The Queensland Council for LGBTI Health (QC), previously the Queensland AIDS Council, wishes to inform people who have accessed the Wrapped n’ Ready Safe Sex Supplies program that on Thursday 9th June 2022, QC experienced a breach of the Wrapped n’ Ready personal information data we hold.
A scam email attack resulted in an unknown third party having remote access to and control of a laptop containing data from orders previously placed with QC, and as this was identified almost immediately, remote access lasted for approximately 60 seconds.
The laptop contained order data from 2018 to 2021, including names, addresses and email addresses. The laptop and the data on it were wiped and the laptop has been encrypted.
QC recommends that anyone who receives suspicious mail or emails implements standard precautions such as not clicking unknown links in emails and not providing personal information like bank details or passwords.
