The Queensland AIDS Council’s state-wide sexual health outreach program Men4Men, was established over a decade ago to engage gay men and men who have sex with men (MSM) with peer based education at a grass roots level. Outreach is volunteer driven with a dedicated team who engage with community at multiple LGBTI venues, sex on premises venues (SOPV) and at community events. Venue Outreach includes distribution of free condoms and lube packs, complemented by casual discussions and promotion of various sexual health campaigns. Utilising the Ottawa Charter Framework for Health Promotion which includes the strategy Building Personal Skills, the program aim is to educate and empower gay man in taking control over their sexual health.
