What is the Fraser Coast Pride Fair Day?

In a first for the region, the Fraser Coast Pride Fair Day is set to celebrate diversity, visibility and acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community within the Fraser Coast region. QuAC is funding the event, following up on a commitment to the region for improved sexual health education, outreach and services.

This event welcomes LGBTIQ+ people, their allies, family and friends.  If successful, this will be an annual event. The set up for this first Fair Day will be one off, and following years may run to a slightly different program, depending on the outcomes/feedback from the community.

The Fraser Coast Pride Fair Day will feature stalls, entertainment and activities from the local LGBTIQ+ community, services and local businesses.

Is the event free to attend?

Yes this is a FREE EVENT! We believe it is important that there are no barriers for people to attend this event.

Is the venue accessible for people living with a disability?

Yes. There will also be volunteers to assist you if required. If you require assistance or have any questions about access, please contact us at sgarvey@quac.org.au or phone 07 3017 1777

Will the event be a safe space for LGBTIQ+ people to attend?

Yes! We will have security at this event to ensure the safety of everyone attending.

Can I volunteer at the event?

That’s a big YES!!! If you are interested in volunteering for a few hours on the day, let us know. Plus you’ll get that warm fuzzy feeling knowing you are supporting your community!

We need help with:

  • Setting up
  • Packing down
  • Clean up
  • Assisting people with a disability
  • Help on the community BBQ
  • Providing information to attendees
  • ….and lots more

If you want to volunteer, contact Shane at sgarvey@quac.org.au or phone 07 3017 1777.

Will there be food and drink available at the event?

Yes. There will be food stalls from local businesses. Plus there will also be a community BBQ and cold drinks stall which will be a fundraiser for local LGBTIQ+ community groups. We also encourage people to bring their own picnic if they like. Please note that there will be no alcohol on sale at the event.

Will there be transport provided after the event?

There is a plan to have a FREE bus running for those requiring transport to a local other venue in the Hervey Bay area at the conclusion of the event. More information to come.

Expressions of interest for stall holders, entertainment and activities.

We are looking for anything that helps LGBTIQ+ visibility, inclusion and improvement of the lived experience of the LGBTIQ community in the Fraser Coast region. This can be music, art, entertainment, dance, food, coffee, ice creams, mental health and well-being services, rainbow products, clothing, marriage celebrants and wedding services, photography, child-care related services, car and trucks, magazines, tourist and accommodation /travel options. The list is endless!

Please let us know if you have any questions, we are happy to work with you! The local LGBTIQ+ community want to see you and know where to find you, and know they are accepted in your business, or service provision.

We want to have a program that entertains all ages in the early afternoon, and a twist of deliciously cheeky, hot and fiery in the evening after 6pm program! There is room for roaming artists, so please consider the venue and if that suits you, jump in!

If you want to hold a stall or provide entertainment/activities, please contact Shane at sgarvey@quac.org.au or phone 07 3017 1777.
