There are many ways to get involved in the work that QuAC does supporting the health and wellbeing of our broad LGBTI community in Queensland. As a community organisation we couldn’t do it without our supporters. Whether you want to volunteer, become a member of QuAC, donate money or fundraise we encourage you to help us in all we do.
QuAC began as a volunteer-run, community organisation as a response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s. In 2004 we expanded our focus to include the health and wellbeing of all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Queenslanders, and in 2013 included Intersex Queenslanders.
We need volunteers to work in a range of areas, from outreach to gay venues, health promotion at LGBTI events, graphic design, fundraising and visiting older LGBTI people (and even some gardening at our Cairns office!). If you live in Brisbane, Cairns, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba or Ipswich we may have volunteering opportunities available.
Read and fill in the Volunteer Registration Form online below. By pressing submit you agree to all conditions on the form.
You will be contacted and advised that your details have been registered, and provided more information regarding your chosen area for volunteering.
We look forward to working with you!

Action Groups
One of the important ways that QuAC delivers services to LGBTI Queenslanders is through our Health Action Groups. The Health Action Groups initiate and facilitate peer education and health promotion to particular areas in the community. Volunteers may make decisions regarding outreach, resource design and distribution and other actions or objectives the group deems necessary to fulfill the goals of the group and QuAC. If you want a say in direct service provision or feel you have a voice or ideas for your community, then join an action group.
